If you have enough cardstock and a computer w/ printer, making party invitations is a practical breeze. A few perks to DIY invites is they are custom made, they can accommodate as much info as you want to convey and they can be cost-effective if you have the supplies on hand.
I made these invites for a baby shower, and I decided to use two background colors. I printed out the party info onto a rectangle of cardstock and then cut out the owl shape by hand. Use a stencil if you want them all the same. I cut them out freestyle, since I wanted each one to be unique. Once the shapes were completed, I added the eyes (punched, white cardstock with black-marker pupils) and the beaks. The invites were a hit. (Hoot!)
Materials: purple, yellow, orange & white cardstock, scissors, glue, circle punch, black marker, computer w/ printer & ink.
